Hi, I’m Lulu.
I was exactly where you are now, confused about my body, feeling dismissed by the medical system, frustrated, and confused as to why no one ever taught me anything about my hormones.
When I was 21 I came off of birth control after being on it consistently for 7 years. I went on the pill at 15 “to help regulate my period” and as a 15 year old with no knowledge of the female body or birth control, I trusted my doctor and went on it.
During those 7 years I went through what I would later realize to be the hardest years of my life, I grew up with an emotionally abusive alcoholic parent and had to take care of my younger brother through my entire high school life. I became an adult really early out of necessity and survival and around 18 I started to channel my unstable home environment and all of my unconscious trauma into disordered eating and exercise habits as a way to have some form of control over my life.
So when I decided to come off of the pill cold turkey it was unfortunately the perfect storm, my body didn’t know how to regulate itself or how to have a menstrual cycle and it definitely didn’t feel safe enough to do so because I was coming out of a period of intensely restricting food and my stress response was incredibly high, I was constantly in a state of fight or flight.
I didn’t get my period for almost 2 years after I came off of birth control.
I knew something was very much not okay (obviously) so I began looking for answers, and after being dismissed by countless doctors, I started to do my own research. I discovered that hormones impact every single function in our bodies and that our menstrual cycle is like a monthly insight into what’s going on, I realized that striving for hormone balance was the key to feeling good and I could actually heal myself with nutrition, supplementation, herbs, and lifestyle practices.
Through all of this I have learned so much about the female body, about hormones, and about fertility and in doing so I ended up discovering my life’s purpose of helping women balance their hormones and optimize their fertility so they can feel good and get pregnant easily. I have healed my mind and my body, balanced my hormones, regained my menstrual cycle after losing it for years, regulated my nervous system, and changed my life through nourishing whole foods, vitamin & mineral supplementation, and stress reduction and I teach my clients to do the same.
I know how it feels to feel like you don’t have control over your body and be frustrated by a lack of answers, and my mission is to make you feel seen, heard, and amazing in your body.
My life’s greatest passion is helping women take back their lives through balanced hormones and a realistic and sustainable approach to nutrition and wellness.
